Pressure Filter
Rapid filters are systems operating under pressure. They are made up either of a galvanized or adequately painted steel or fibreglass cover with valves and joint piping, manometers and accessories for proper operation.
Pressure filter are:
-
Clarifying filter is a pressure filter that is used to eliminate the turbidity of water. The filling consists of filter sand and substrate grit. The grain size of sand may differ according to the specific filter usage.
-
Neutralizing filters: These filters are used to neutralize the pH of water. The filtration material is a natural compound which reacts with water containing free carbon dioxide, thus forming a stable compound and raising the pH to neutral values.
-
Deironing filters: A deironing filter is used to remove iron and manganese by using a charge of catalyzing matter that makes them react, so that they are eliminated from water being treated.
-
G.A.C. filters: A granular activated carbon filter is used for dechlorination and the absorption of any organic compounds present in water being treated. Further applications may be performed, such as the elimination of organic micropollutants like pesticides or chlorinated solvents.
-
Timer-controlled domestic filters: Timer-controlled domestic filters may be clarifying deironing, g.a.c. and neutralizing filters for low flow rates.
-
Self-cleaning sand removal filters:These filters are used to remove both solids and sand, so as to guarantee optimum micrometric filtration of water. Such filters may be semi-automatic or automatic.
