Imhoff

The Imhoff septic tanks are made up of a main basin for anaerobic digestion which contains a secondary compartment for sedimentation inside. The wastewater enters the sedimentation chamber, which retains the solid bodies and then falls into the lower digestion compartment. During digestion, organic substances are mainly transformed into water, carbon dioxide and methane gas, while the inorganic part constitutes the sludge that settles on the bottom.
