Ultrafiltration

Ultrafiltration is a filtration process operated on an anisotropic membrane characterized by holes of the size of the order of millimicron. The driving force of the process is represented by the pressure difference (called Transmbrane Pressure, in English TMP, Trans-Membrane Pressure), applied upstream and downstream of the filter medium to obtain the passage of the fluid.
